First, let’s not focus on how far behind I am on blogging and how many years ago I shot this gorgeous girl. Let’s focus on how, even 2 years later, these images still feel timeless but in style. That’s my aim with every session- how we style and how I edit it. We want to bring a freshness to the shoot while being able to still look back on it 10 years later and have it not feel like we entered into a different dimension. haha
With that being said. Meet Meghan.
I love how we went from an orange flowy dress olive overalls. This is the main reason I love photographing Seniors. This is something they really embrace that my adult clients don’t- we as individuals do not have a personality built on 1 thing, one way of living, 1 way of being. We hold within us several different versions of ourselves, and that’s ok. You don’t have to wake up every single day and be exactly the same. Maybe one day you want to dress up and go out in the city. Maybe one day you want to dress rugged and go hiking. You can do that. You should do that. And the way we show that to the world in photographs is through our wardrobe.
The third location we visited was Marysville High School. This was a must. Meghan was in softball, volleyball, and basketball. I’m tired just thinking about going to god only knows how many practices and games over her 4 year high school period. haha This was a chance to show off her more serious and strong side, which I always love to see. It added a little grit and edge to her shoot, and again, embraces the different faces she puts on when she steps onto the field or court vs the face she wears with family and friends.
The last stop was downtown Port Huron and was designed around what we discussed in our first meeting to plan out her shoot.
One of the main things I remember was that she wanted a modern Stevie Nicks vibe. After that my imagination ran wild on how to bring that to life.
