Senior Session at Sunset-
Old Hollywood Glam and Back Country Roads

   Adriana's Senior Session just made me fall in love with bright colors all over again! The vibrant pink dress, the amazing sunset, her bold red dress and lip- oh my gosh! 
   We were racing time this whole night and putting our trust in the sun to not set too early on us. We started at the studio, trying new things with sheets and back lighting, using complimenting colors to her dress. We then switched up the look from young and fun to dramatic and glam. We crept into a field that holds this beautiful, crumbling house and photographed Adriana looking oh so grown up and timeless. We turned around, realized the sun was sinking, and cruised to our last location which was simply a plowed bean field off a country back road and just melted over this look with the sun!
   Senior girls and Mother Nature- the beauty is overwhelmong!

L'Anse Creuse High School Senior Photoshoot

A Fall Senior Session on back country roads,

   Meet Samantha, A L'Anse Creuse High School Senior, Class of 2017.
   But that's just the basics.
   When I met with her and her mom I instantly adored both of them and quickly learned that Samantha was this little creative spirit underneath all of that fabulous, curly long brown hair! She not only acted in plays she also sang. I THEN learned that she didn't just sing, she sang AND wrote, played, and composed her own songs.
   I'm pretty sure that's when my inner 18 year old self got all excited and knew we had to do something really special and custom for her session.
   A local artist provided me with vintage music sheets that I hung up in the middle of our forest here behind the studio. We embraced the dark beauty both I and Samantha appreciate for that set before we took off and did a lighter look, surrounded by all the Fall colors on the country back roads.
   After that we took a short hike out to under a bridge that used to be an old railroad track that went over the river. I used to go here with my Grandpa and Mom all the time, and my grandpa used to dare us to walk out on to the rotting tracks.... I never would have thought I would be going back with a beautiful young artist for her Senior Pictures. She had a vision in her head and I think this location captured it beautifully. What you can't see is the super steep hill we were on and how she had to slide down loose rocks in heels overlooking a drop off, but... again, totally worth it, and adventure always makes things better.
   We had such an amazing time with her and her family... I'm sad the whole experience with them is over, but I'm really proud and honored to be a part of this time that resulted in so much beauty, this time that marks the first steps to an amazing future for her and all she's about to accomplish!

   Winter in Michigan is our time to appreciate the calm in the world, the beauty and softness snow brings, and a way to make Portraits even more unique. There’s just something about a snow session. It’s magical, it’s surreal, it’s elegant.

   We shoot outdoors all year because Mother Nature offers so much beauty every season, we’re not hiding inside to miss it. So get daring with us. Strip down or bundle up. And book your Winter Session while magic is still falling and creating a scene unlike any other.

Thanks to this Port Huron High Senior, Color Guard is my new favorite sport. It probably does help that Janelle also does Power Lifting, so her fierce strength with the weights allows her to carelessly spin her flags in the air and make it look so magical. And believe me, seeing it in person early in the morning at sunrise on the shores of Lake Huron while the sun slowly reached over the clouds and bounced back on the water was truly peaceful and stunning. Look at the images, her skin is literally sparkling.  

   It was awesome to watch as Janelle transitioned from this soft, Color Guard Cinderella, to a beautiful 17 year old girl hanging out on a Fall day, to a strong, confident weight lifter, and ended on a grungy, sassy look hidden under an old train trestle track. She pulled off all looks perfectly.
